Ginger and orange have a thing. Separately, they’re great. Together, they are absolutely fantastic. Joined forces, ginger and orange make this smoothie one magical combination. It’s a refreshing drink or a perfect pick-me-up if you feel run-down or sick.

You’ve known for years that oranges have tons of Vitamin C to boost your immune system and neutralize free radicals. But did you also know that oranges are filled with fiber, Vitamin A, and potassium to keep your overall health in check? Of course they are!

Ginger is an immune-system rockstar too. It has been used for thousands of years in ancient Chinese medicine as a known healer for promoting energy circulation in the body. Ginger is also used as a natural treatment for the cold and flu, as ginger enhances absorption of essential nutrients in the body, combats an upset stomach, and helps to strengthen immunity.

So together, orange and ginger are like Batman and Robin. But better, without the skintight bodysuit…and way more delicious. Unless Christian Bale is playing Batman…_that’s pretty delicious._

Perky Green Ginger Smoothie

Makes 1 serving

1 banana, frozen
1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
Handful of spinach
1 cup unsweetened almond or cashew milk
1 orange, peeled
1 tablespoon hemp seeds

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed. Enjoy!
