Peach, Turmeric, and Ginger Detox Smoothie
in Recipes
Turmeric and ginger are two of my favorite detoxifiers. Those two stars plus carrots, peaches, and almond milk? Mmm best detox ever.
Ancient Chinese and Indian medicines have prized turmeric and ginger for thousands of years, believing both to have supreme healing and anti-inflammatory abilities. Turmeric contains a potent phenol called Curcumin; the fancy name that’s responsible for turmeric’s beautiful bright orange hue. Curcumin has proven to be a better anti-inflammation remedy than most over-the-counter drugs and also works as a super antioxidant to rid your bod of free radicals. Ginger is also an anti-inflammatory star, bursting with antioxidants, and is known to stimulate the body by perking up digestion, sweating, and circulation. This helps to cleanse your body of toxins and waste that end up in the colon and liver.
What I especially love about this smoothie is how warming is feels and tastes. But beware; it’s a bit spicy! It’s a great smoothie for cooler summer mornings, or early autumn as peaches start to go out of season. Drink up for a Vitamin A & C, anti-inflammatory powers, and a happy digestive detox! Enjoy!
